Our February volunteers have just come back from the Kruger National Park leg of their time with us and they were beaming with the after glow that can only be associated with the rest, relaxation and also the thrill of the bush. Here what our volunteers had to say about their week in the bush!
“I liked that situation when we came across two lions sprawled across the road next to our car. It was a great experience to observe the animals so close to our car and to see how some of them feed. We had such fun together with our tour guides. We even got to see lions mating behind a nearby bush! It was absolutely amazing, particularly having to stop the car to let a pride of lions walk across the road in front of us and off into the bush on the other side.”

“The best part of my trip was seeing the sunrise during the bush drive with Wawa and Mpho, and spotting the hyena.”

“We were in a lovely group of 9 people. The weather was really hot but we had enough time to refresh in the cool pools. We did not see all the Big 5, but a lot of other interesting animals as well. It was an unforgettable trip with a lot of great moments!”

“I just loved the game drives where we saw the animals up close. Everything from lion, to hyena; it was so amazing. The morning walks were breathtaking and getting to hang out at the swimming pool in the summer sun was wonderful.”

“My highlights of our Kruger tour definitely have to be watching the sunrise from our car and then spotting the lions lying on the road. How thrilling to see them up close!! The atmosphere at camp was so warm and relaxed. I really enjoyed the group that we were in, it just felt like an amazing getaway. The sunset drive was so beautiful it almost seemed magical. The most thrilling moment had to be standing between the elephants. Great tour!!”
